Dave and Keith helped me pour four of the five concrete countertops for the kitchen. Between vibrating, pouring, and cleaning up the concrete, it was definitely a three man job. We used 4000psi ready mix and brought it up to a 5000psi mix with more portland and also added water reducers and fibers for increased strength.

This is the kitchen sink piece with the built in drain board and stainless trivets. Once we brake the piece out of the mold I grind the top and sides starting with a 50 grit diamond pad wet polisher to expose some of the aggregate. I then work my way up from 50 to 3000 grit to get a smooth polished finish. This piece still needs a slurry coat and some fine polishing, sealer and wax.

Belle's closet turned out really nice and the space was utilized very well. She had a pegboard installed to the right for more versatile storage.

I am about to add the slurry coat to the bar section with the stove cutout. It took 6 people to move this piece out and it would have been better with 8.

The kitchen sink is installed. I still need to add a sealer and the wax coat, and of course the back splash.

Here I am ready to concrete my rock to the hardibacker and I'll mortar and smooth the joints. This area will have a custom open gas fireplace.

Finished the gas fireplace area.

Moving the largest piece of kitchen countertop into the kitchen.

All the countertops are set in place except the island, which will be built after the flooring is installed.

Installing felt paper as a barrier between the sub floor and the finished wood flooring.

The counter has been waxed and the floor is done. I still need to install the stove and do the backslash and build the counter for the island/bar.

The weekend of October 16th Juan, Hilary, (some friends), Belle and I took our trucks and trailers to Stephenville to hang out the weekend and pick up our stuff from storage in Dublin, TX. We had a great weekend and came back Sunday with the trucks and trailers loaded down. We moved our mattress in that night on the 17th and slept in our house for the first time. It wasn't very comfortable and we didn't sleep very well but after a few days we kind of started getting use to our house. At this point a lot of the finishing touches have been done and we are starting to really enjoy the house. Everything is working very well and we just got our sound system going. Sounds awesome!

The little white balls with the fire is the main heat for the house. It heats the house up very quickly and it is thermostat and remote controlled. There is something really cool about pushing a button and you have instant fire!

The mold for the island in the kitchen as well as the window seal to the left.

The main bar with the living area behind and gas fireplace. Most of the house is finished up to this point but I still have to finish the guest area, office and guest bathroom. I will pick back up on that in the near future. Stay tuned!
